In Slab City, a remote outpost in the California desert, a remarkable group of queer nomads built a community of their own. “Flamingo Camp” was a refuge for those who didn’t fit into society, and a close-knit community built on keeping everyone safe. But after the murder of a prominent resident, the community is badly shaken, and its members wonder… is there really such a thing as a “safe space?”
