A few weeks ago, I mentioned that we’ve been cooking up an all-new column with our good friend and longtime collaborator, Mike Toole. Well, the timer’s just gone off and Cap’n Toole’s ready to plunder some fine anime booty, or in other words…

Whenever he’s not enjoying a game of footie, Mike Toole’s out on the high seas in search of anime treasure! “X” might not always mark the spot, but you can be sure the good captain will have a tale or two to share about his latest voyage. And if you’re really lucky, he might even stumble upon a chest of solid gold anime doubloons to pass around…

Like in today’s BRAND-SPANKING-NEW edition of TOOLE’S GOLD, which dives deep into the end of Ozamu Dezaki’s Black Jack OVA series—a production that concluded without its legendary director at the helm.

And that’s it from me for now! Please enjoy this fresh slice of TOOLE’S GOLD and we’ll be back next week with even more treasure to plunder.
