I know this is an old post Justin, but still touching. I live in New Jersey, so your story is familiar to me, it sounds like so many others I heard and much like mine as well. Still it was a great read. Thanks for sharing. Also I’ve heard stories about how the Big Apple Anime Fest helped to get peoples’ minds off of what happened, and helped make them happy, if even for a day. I also see a psychological momentum here:

Steve Jobs is an old man.
And Steve Jobs is Apple.
And Apple is a control freak.
He will not leave control out of his hand.
When Steve goes, Apple goes.
His cocky days of fruitful innovation are gone.

It’s *his* work. /He/ is Apple. So Apple will go along with him. At least that part of Apple, that he has brought into life, together with Steve Wozniack. Now one could say, that iOS is also him, but I see the psychological momentum here. There is something that drives Apple (the conventional) out. The “Back to Mac” iOS stuff is the preparation. They may not be aware of what happens, themselfes.

I think your statement is off. You’re not issuing an end to the Mac platform.

You’re insinuating an end to OS X.

While Apple still seems to be working with iOS to be the featured portion of Apple’s product line, I’m sure they are working on a hybrid of sorts between the two. They seem to be slowly redesigning their software from the ground up, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a bunker on Apple’s campus that has people working on what we’ll look at as the next generation in Apple software for the Mac of a new generation.

Good point. Honestly, if I was an IT guy or developer I’d still probably be on a Mac. Plus, iOS dev tools are also all still Mac only. So there’s that.

I agree that iPads and tablets are the future for general purpose computing/consuming. But for PC vs Mac, I still give the edge to the Mac. I’ve had to repair 3 PCs from friends with Windows 7 on them this year and they even had antivirus/antimalware/firewall software installed!

Friends that I’ve convinced to switch to a MacBook ~1-4 years ago are still running uninfected and more importantly not asking me to take a look at what’s wrong with their computer every few months.

Also, if you’re a software developer, Macs are hands down better than Windows. Cygwin makes me cringe.

Dear God. Why would you date a girl whose only claim to fame is being gang banged by 251 people? I can only see this as Lewis trying to exploit Annabel, not for sex but as a source of content for his film.

Either that or he has the exact opposite fetish that NEETS have about “pure wives”.
